Why haven’t I heard from my sponsored child?

We understand that receiving a letter or message from your sponsored child is a treasured part of your sponsorship experience, and we work very hard with our field teams to facilitate that communication. Sponsored children will write at least one letter to their sponsor at a specific time each year, sharing about their family, school, and experiences they have had. As a sponsor, you are able to send physical letters and gifts to your child at any time which they will respond to with a thank you note that is sent to you via mail. Please note that this process can take several months due to the mailing system in Kenya and the length of time packages take to be received by our field team. Additionally, we encourage you to take advantage of our online messaging platform which allows for much quicker response times and more frequent communication with your sponsor child. You can access the messaging page by logging into your online account. We ask that you keep in mind that response times may be dependent on your sponsored child’s location and school break schedule.
