  • Our students also showcased their talents in local music competitions at both the sub-county and county levels. We’re delighted to announce that one of our teams secured a spot in the regional competition.
  • Additionally, our fifth-grade students took part in the MOHI regional spelling bee competition. Their hard work and dedication was truly commendable as they geared up to represent our center.

Transformation Story:

Max*, a vibrant 13-year-old, lives right next to our Missions of Hope center in Mitangoni school with his parents and eight siblings – four girls and four boys. Their family dynamic reflects the diversity and strength of their bond.

Max’s father isn’t currently employed, placing the family’s financial responsibilities largely on his wife’s shoulders. She manages a small roadside coconut business near their home, leveraging on their proximity to the highway. It’s through her determination that the family manages to make ends meet.

Max’s journey with us began when he joined our school during his fourth-grade year. The transition to our educational environment presented its challenges initially, but with persistence and dedication, he managed to catch up with his peers. Today, he stands as the top-performing student in his sixth-grade class.

In his previous school, Max never had the chance to truly explore his talents due to the distance and fatigue associated with commuting. However, upon joining our institution, he was granted the opportunity to choose his preferred sport – and he selected soccer. With an enthusiastic teacher overseeing soccer training, Max eagerly participated and honed his skills. As a result, he secured a spot on the school team, making significant contributions on the field.

Max’s hard work and dedication earned him recognition beyond our school borders. He was selected to represent our institution in regional ball games, showcasing his remarkable talent and dedication to both his studies and the sport. This achievement is a source of pride for both the school and Max’s parents, highlighting the potential that is nurtured within our institution.

As we celebrate Max’s transformation and growth, we’re grateful to witness his journey unfold. We have faith that his talent will not go unnoticed and that his efforts will bear fruit in the days to come. Through this success story, we acknowledge the divine role that has played in shaping Max’s life and look forward to seeing more students emulate his dedication and hard work – both in the classroom and on the field.

Partner activity:

  • The Christ Church of the Valley Medical Team paid a special visit to the children. While they were here, they offered screening services to our young children. Evaluated their general health and gave recommendations to improve their overall health.

Prayer Requests:

  • We’re giving thanks to the Lord for blessing the Mitangoni community with much-needed rain. After enduring a five-year drought, the community can finally enjoy a corn harvest.
  • We’re also grateful for God’s provision, as it has enabled the completion of the tuition block, a significant milestone for our mission.
  • Pray for Mitangoni men, asking for their growth as responsible parents and positive role models within their families and community.
