Current Stats:

 Number of Students: 391

Current Number of Unsponsored Students: 147

Term Highlights:

  • Our students and staff took part in a friendly match against the Missions of Hope Milimani team. The games played included soccer and volleyball for both boys and girls, as well as netball for girls.
  • We celebrate our 35 sixth grade students who left for the two-week experience at Angaza Discovery Camp in Kilifi. During their time there, they enjoyed a range of activities, including singing in the Chapel and engaging with God’s Word. They also had the opportunity to go horseback riding, indulge in artistic drawing, play various games, take a refreshing swim at the Indian Ocean , participate in devotional sessions, and even visited the Vasco da Gama pillar in Malindi. They came back with lots of stories to tell their friends and family.

Transformation Story:

Meet Paul*, an 11-year-old boy currently in Grade 5. He’s the fourth child in a family of six and resides with his parents in a double-room mud house in Kapsita. Unfortunately, his parents are jobless, and they rely on irregular casual work, which doesn’t provide a stable income.

Paul became a part of the Missions of Hope Coram Deo Center in Grade 2 back in 2020. However, his initial days were marked by a lack of engagement both in class and in extracurricular activities. He struggled with assignments and didn’t perform well academically.

Recognizing the issue, Paul’s class teacher decided to involve a social worker, who conducted a home visit. During this visit, it became clear that Paul’s parents weren’t able to provide the necessary attention and help with his schoolwork. To address this, the social worker arranged a meeting between one of the parents and Paul’s teachers.

Thankfully, through this interaction, Paul’s father was told about a job opening at our Molo Turi High School. He applied and secured a job as a cook at Missions of Hope Molo Turi High School. This new job has had a positive impact on Paul’s performance. He’s now actively participating in class, excelling in his studies, engaging in daily devotions, and taking part in various school activities. The collaborative efforts between the parent and teacher have truly made a difference in Paul’s life.

Partner Activity:

  • We were delighted to host Grace Bible Church during this term. They organized a fantastic Vacation Bible School for 391 students, centered around the theme of “Hope as an Anchor.” The students thoroughly enjoyed their time engaging with Bible stories, creating crafts, participating in worship, playing games, and savoring delicious snacks.

Prayer Request:

  • Lastly, let’s lift up the families we serve, praying for their economic empowerment. May they find the resources and opportunities they need to thrive and flourish.
