Madoya is an informal settlement in Nairobi located in the Mathare Valley. It has a culturally diverse population living in the area. Vigilante gangs reside in this area leading to regular escalation of violence whenever there is a trigger.

The largest single occupation group in this community is small scale enterprises, followed by casual laborers, artisans, and formal employment as security guards, domestic workers, clerks, and waiters.
