Kiwandani

Center Overview

Kiwandani

Kiwandani Center is located 329 miles from Nairobi along Kenya’s coast. Kiwandani is an informal settlement within the Kilifi town but 4 miles away from the city center. It is home to approximately 4000 people living below the poverty line. The community is semi-urban with a nearby informal settlement that a majority of the community that we serve come from.

The challenges that the community faces are mostly related to poverty such as high levels of illiteracy, lack of jobs or economic activities, alcoholism and drug abuse, malnutrition and school dropouts.

MOHI’s holistic approach has seen the community gain: christian education, health and economic empowerment together with christian values to the community through the transforming love of Jesus Christ
