Hope Transforms: A Success Story

David* is a parent here at our Kiwandani Center. He is a father of 7 children and only 2 attend school in our Kiwandani Center. David and his wife are both casual laborers doing any kind of odd job to try and feed their family.

Being a casual laborer can be difficult, living on daily earnings means that if David doesn’t find a job to do that day, he and his family will go to bed without eating. This was the reality for David and his wife.

David was determined to find a solution to his economic problems so when our social worker invited members of the community to attend a “Farming God’s Way” training,  David was among the first to join.

After the classes, the members of the community were challenged to start their own kitchen garden. David took this challenge seriously and started to practice what he learned. After a few months, he has been able to provide vegetables for his family every day. Today David and his family enjoy farm fresh vegetables with every meal. He has been able to open a vegetable stand where his wife can sell the produce while he continues his work as a casual laborer.

We thank God for this transformation. David is so happy about how much his life has changed so he is now helping MOHI campaign for other community members to take up the same initiative and become self-sustaining.
