Hope Transforms: A Success Story

*Abel is a grade seven student at the Area 2 center. Abel lives with his parents who are very responsible and they take good care of him.
Despite coming from a good home, Abel’s academic performance was poor, he had low self-esteem, was very withdrawn and he would sometimes not come to school. When the class teacher noted this, he shared it with the headteacher who took the initiative to befriend Abel, and walk closely with him so that he could find out what was wrong. The headteacher spent time with the boy just talking to him, counseling and praying with him and after about a month, Abel opened up to him.
Turns out Abel was suffering from an overactive bladder (OAB); a condition resulting in frequent urination. Sometimes he would suffer from involuntary loss of urine which was very embarrassing for him. Once we learned this, the headteacher involved a few teachers and Abel’s parents in three days of prayer and fasting to ask God to heal him. He also connected the parents to MOHI’s health team and they helped them seek specialist medical assistance from one of our local partner hospitals.
Abel is now completely healed from OAB! His academic performance has also greatly improved, his low self-esteem is gone and he is now interacting freely with his classmates. He looks healthy and strong, is full of life and he is now very optimistic. We give glory to God for this transformation.

Term Highlights

- We are thankful that our grade six students got to spend time at the Angaza Discovery Camp. They came back with a greater commitment to read the Word of God and to prayer. We are grateful that the transformation has started in their lives.
- We also thank God for our 52 grade eight students who successfully completed the national primary school exit exam. The exam was held from March 7-9th. We are trusting God for a 100 percent transition to high school for all our students.
- We held a colorful graduation ceremony for our 72 kindergarten students who are set to join grade one on April 25th. It has been exciting watching these young ones learn how to read and write.
Prayer Requests

- Pray for our students as they break for the long holiday that they will stay safe and be in good health.
