Our Kariobangi center is a multi-purpose facility primarily used for MOHI’s vocational skills training program. We train parents of our students and other community members in marketable skills that economically, socially, and emotionally empower them to provide a better life for their families. These skills include sewing, knitting, beadwork (jewelry-making), hairdressing/ beauty, and carpentry. The training also encompasses spiritual development through teaching God’s Word and sharing His love with program participants.
In addition to housing multiple classrooms for training and instruction, Kariobangi center also contains a production unit where training graduates are employed in making school uniforms for MOHI students and jewelry and other items for the MOHI Market & Gift Shop. The income earned from product sales supports MOHI programs, contributing to our sustainability initiatives. Also parents and community members receive a ready market for their handcrafted goods so that they can earn a consistent, fair income for their families.
