Skills Training

We delight in empowering community members so that they can grow not only in their professional skills, but also in their relationship with God. Through our vocational training program, parents of MOHI students and others in communities where we serve can obtain valuable skills to provide a better income and life for their families. Working in tandem with our micro-finance program, graduates can obtain loans to start a business to utilize their new-found skills. We also teach our trainees the Word of God and share with them His love.

Our current program includes training in:

  •  Tailoring;
  •  Hairdressing and beauty;
  •  Beadwork (jewelry-making); and
  •  Knitting.

MOHI has also developed a training program in welding to provide additional opportunities to more community members.

Along with empowering community members, the program also generates income for MOHI through the sale of products in our MOHI Market & Gift Shop, which allows us to buy needed materials and equipment for the program. Participants in tailoring and knitting make school uniforms for our students, which allows parents to buy uniforms for their children at a reduced cost and also provides profits to the individuals making the uniforms.
