Community Health Evangelism (CHE, pronounced "chay") is foundational to all MOHI ministries. CHE helps community members identify their needs, evaluate their God-given resources, and find solutions to improve their situations. In alignment with Jesus' teaching and ministry, CHE addresses the needs of the whole person: physical, spiritual, emotional, and social. The spiritual teaching that accompanies each CHE training releases the power of Christ into communities as people begin to understand God’s purpose and vision for their lives. The goal of CHE is true, lasting transformation in lives and communities that reflects the breadth and depth of the whole range of the human experience in the world God created.
CHE training includes instruction on hygiene, clean water, safe cooking, latrines, health care, HIV prevention and care, and other basic life skills. CHE outreach programs are designed to reach non-Christians, focusing on evangelism, then follow-up and discipleship. Many have come to Christ through CHE as community members begin to clean up their neighborhoods and promote holistic health practices. Church leaders often use CHE training to minister to new believers.
