Come Serve with Us

We love having visitors at Missions of Hope International! More than 700 visitors come to Kenya each year to see and experience the ministry! Short-term teams encourage and impact our students, staff, and community. Each team brings skills to share, boundless energy to encourage and uplift, and God’s love to pour out to others.

What Does A Mission Trip Look Like?

Trips through Missions of Hope International are a chance to serve local students, their families and entire communities, experience Kenyan culture, and support our long-term workers in their ministry.

Trip Highlights

Visit Your Partner Community School and Church

Witness the impact of your support firsthand. Build meaningful relationships with MOHI staff, students, parents, and community members while gaining a deeper understanding of the community you are helping to support.

Meet Your Sponsored Child

If you sponsor a child through MOHI, this trip is a chance to meet them, deepening your relationship and learning more about their life!

Participate in Community Work

Teams work on projects such as installing roof panels, performing street drama, conducting community education on HIV/AIDS, and building playgrounds. Get hands-on experience as you work alongside our local team!

Build Relationships with Students

As you visit MOHI schools and lead Vacation Bible School (VBS), spend time with students, answer questions about yourself (like your favorite color!), learn their stories, and share yours.

Be Immersed in the Culture

Spend time with our team in the Mathare Valley communities. By visiting homes and meeting individuals in the community, you’ll experience daily life and activities through their eyes.

Gain New Experiences

See the realities of disadvantaged communities, eat Kenyan food, visit local markets, and truly experience the culture. Finish your trip with a safari at one of Kenya’s game parks.

“It has been amazing to see how our small mission team has made a God sized impact with these children and their community… We look forward to watching what God will do through the lives of these kids in transforming their families and community. We have left our hearts in Africa.”
Patricc M.
“If you are ever blessed with the opportunity to go on a mission trip – I’d highly recommend it. You may think you are going to be a blessing to others, but it will be you that is blessed most by the trip. There may be countless reasons that run through your mind as to why you shouldn’t go. Do it anyway, even if you’re afraid. You won’t regret it. Life is short – live it well.”
Melissa S.
“Meeting your sponsored child is a highlight for many who travel to Missions of Hope in Kenya. What a joy to hug and high five the kids we support. They are more than a photograph on our refrigerators... they are children for whom God has big plans and with whom we have real relationships.”
